Madhu Arts: Artist Madhvi DhanakBorn and brought up in Bahra...

Artist
Madhvi Dhanak
Madhvi Dhanak a passionate Indian artist born and brought up in Bahrain, she finished her studies and her love for arts drove her to complete her Masters in Fine Arts from ICS, Scranton, in the year 1997.
A thorough Nature enthusiast uses all conventional mediums and likes to explore and recreate subjects with her own graceful style of work.
Madhvi, whose media is most often watercolor, is a versatile artist of portraits, still life, floral, landscape, seascape, wildlife etc...
Artist Statement
Subject
I have been painting and drawing florals and portraits since I was very young. From the very first it was exciting, even surprising, to see a likeness appearing on the paper before me.
I am very instinctive, I love to paint something that inspires me, something that I find challenging like the fur of a fluffy bird or colorful textured peacock, creases and folds of a silk cloth lying on the table or the mysterious stary night, an Indian lady gracefully draped in a beautiful saree or 'Krishna' the supreme creator and his divine stories etc...Adding textures and natural light which in turn adds glory to the subject.

Techniques
I find it amazing and I am always surprised with the outcome when I work with watercolors which have recently been my medium of choice. I use a varied choice of colors and it depends on the subject matter that I am working on, but yes hues of blue are my favorite. I like to glaze a color over the other and allow it to mix on paper. I also use Acrylics for alot of my subjects, like to use bold colors like a strong Red with a dark Gray which allows me to catch the viewers attention.

Teaching

I love to share what I know and what I experience with Art as teaching, in turn, teaches me a lot, through numerous demonstrations in different mediums, classes, and workshops, I have been able to share my work and experience with others: artist’s groups, schools, Art fairs, community organizations and, it is always a delight for me.

Education
I have done Masters in Fine Arts from ICS, Scranton which was a correspondence course, it was basically a lot of trial and error process where over the years I learned with experience.

My Goal
There is so much of beauty and dynamism all over...
My desire is just to be with those beautiful colors, colors inspire me, enlighten my soul. Also to portray my imagination and curiosity onto my work.
